Many people have returned to Carriacou to live. Some younger people have relocated from the Americas
and Europe, and older people have retired there. Quite a few new, large, modern homes have been built all over the island,
and a great deal of expertise gained abroad is now very present. A safe, desireable island, non-Carriacouans, including
Canadians, Germans, the British, and Americans have chosen to live there as well on recently purchased land, on yatchs in
Harvey Vale and Tyrrel Bay, or simply off the coast with their children attending local schools.

by his Cummings family features. Having never met him, she accurately indicated who his parents were and that we are family.

ALL REUNIONS
WEDDINGS
BEGINNING, Wednesday, August 1ST, THERE WAS AN Opening Day Service at Christ the King Anglican Church
at 9:30 A.M. In Hillsborough. This was followed by a Saraca Feast in Brunswick on the Jerome Family Land from 3 P.M. until.
Although there was a passing shower of tropical rain, the festivities were lively with the ladies preparing rolled rice and
coocoo, while others washed, seasoned and cooked a few pigs, sheep, chickens, and a goat. Uncle Shem led the verbal way with
conversation recalling the history and culture of the family in Carriacou as well as the travels and exploits of the many
relatives that went to Panama, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, Aruba, England, Canada, and Holland seeking and finding their
fortune.
While the Regatta boat races went on and the evening witnessed traditional shows at the Tennis Court in Hillsborough,
music and dancing to Jab-Jab Grenadian soca was ever-present at the JUPA, located at the Jetty, and venders prepared and sold
fresh conch soup, codfish cakes, fried chicken and other delicacies in the street.
 ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 2ND, TOURS OF THE ISLAND WERE CONDUCTED TAKING FAMILY MEMBERS TO TOP HILL, THE ORIGINAL LOCATION OF THE
JEROME FAMILY, WHERE JOE JEROME (THE OLDEST JEROME IN CARRIACOU -- 100 YEARS OLD)LIVES. OTHER SITES VISITED INCLUDED MOUNT
ROYAL, MOUNT PLEASANT, GRAND BAY, BOGLES, AND DUMPHRIES. EVENTUALLY EVERYONE ENDED UP AT PARADISE BEACH FOR FOOD, FUN, FROLICKING,
AND MUSIC PROVIDED BY PRINCE CUMMINGS' GRAND NEPHEW, IBRAHIM POPE. ONE OF THE VENDERS ON THE BEACH SOLD SAVORY COOCOO POIS
WITH GRAVY AND THE HARDWOOD CAFE HAD ITS USUAL FARE OF STEW CHICKEN, STEW PORK, AND LAMBIE.

PASSED ON TO GREATER GLORY on Sunday, July 30, 2006, at the age of 93. THE SECOND OLDEST IS JOE
JEROME (100) OF TOP HILL, CARRIACOU. THE OLDEST JEROME IS 103 YEARS OLD, AND SHE LIVES IN BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.

THE FOUNDATION OF THE JEROME-CUMMINGS FAMILY IS COMPOSED OF INTELLIGENT, HARD-WORKING,
AMBITIOUS INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE MAINTAINED A TRADITION OF LIVING AND WORKING ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD THAT WOULD ENABLE THEM TO

THE GREAT BIG DRUM NATION DANCE DANCER, LUCIAN DUNCAN, HAS PASSED AWAY IN BROOKLYN, NEW YORK, at the age of 92. In the 1970's,
she performed at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and the Museum of Natural History, both in New York. Lucian danced
at the White House, and Lucian carried Carriacou Big Drum Nation Dance culture to Europe, especially to England where she
performed before the queen. Her wake and VIEWING was from 4 to 7 PM and funeral SERVICE was from 7 to 9 PM on Saturday, August
18, 2007, at 351 Saratoga Avenue (by St. Marks Place), in Brooklyn. The REPAST followed immediately after at 135 East 94th
Street, Brooklyn, New York.
Our cousin from Aruba who is at a university in Holland wishes all a Merry Christmas
and un bon anja 2008 from the land
where Santa Claus (Saint Nicholas) comes from.
